Assured Digital Twins: Digital Property Compliance

Workshop Leader: David McKee, CEO, Counterpoint Technologies

In this workshop we will introduce a few key concepts of assurance and compliance with a background from a legal perspective as to why they are critical for businesses to get a handle on. We will then tie this into digital twins and look at how we can build an assured digital thread. We will look at some simple examples hands-on training with the Crysp digital compliance platform looking at how it can be used for health and safety compliance, training compliance and more.

Prerequisites: Laptop

Composing Digital Twins - Benefits And Values

Workshop Leader – Pieter Van Schalkwyk, CEO, XMPro / Gavin Green, VP Strategic Solutions, XMPros

Prerequisites: Personal laptop. 90-day account access will be provided.

Tabletop Training (TTX) for Interactive Threat Scenario Management

Workshop Leader - David Shaw, CEO: Intuitus Cyber Security

A TTX (Tabletop Training Exercise) consists of simulating known and emerging threats against critical assets and processes in a real-world context where conclusions are documented without disruption to actual assets, processes, or operations. The TTX is made up of scripted, progressively complex scenarios, each one building on the previous activity against a specified domain and use case.

A digital twin is used to develop Red Team scenarios with predictive analytics modeling and AR to enhance Use Case development. Each episode is defined by a threat scenario and multiple threat activities perpetrated by the Red (threat) Team that is subsequently responded to by the Blue Team.

Episode exercises are generally progressively complex and are designed to address potential vulnerabilities or gaps in control measures that the Blue Team uses to mitigate the threat or risk being evaluated.

Building Digital Twins for Real-Time Analytics and Simulation with Many Data Sources

Workshop Leader - Dr. William Bain, CEO, ScaleOut Software, Inc

This workshop will present a new technique for employing digital twins that focuses on real-time analytics and simulation of large systems with tens, hundreds, or even thousands of data sources. This technique extends the use of digital twins beyond their traditional applications in product lifecycle management and opens the door to addressing a wide range of important challenges. It enables digital twins to track large vehicle fleets, logistics systems, security infrastructures such as power grids and smart cities, airline operations, credit card users, ecommerce shoppers, and countless other applications.

The workshop will start with an overview of the challenges in tracking and modeling large systems with many data sources and explore several example applications. As one example, it will look in depth at how digital twins can be used to track the nation’s freight railway system to catch mechanical failures that might otherwise lead to derailments. Next, the workshop will describe ScaleOut’s object-oriented software architecture for building large collections of digital twins and explain how they can be hosted on an in-memory computing platform to run at scale with high responsiveness. It will explain how managers can use real-time aggregate analytics and visualization to maximize situational awareness when tracking live systems and make predictions when running simulations. Lastly, the workshop will give participants an opportunity to build and run a simulation model using digital twins on their Windows or Linux laptop computers.
