Developing the Next Generation of Systems and Enabling Technologies Using Digital Twin Testbeds

The Digital Twin Testbeds are a member-driven initiative designed to advance digital twin systems and enabling technologies. The initiative provides a collaborative, holistic approach DTC members can use to develop, test, verify, validate and implement digital twin systems and advance digital twin-enabling technologies.

Leveraging DTC's foundational guidance, the initiative utilizes the Composability Framework comprised of the Digital Twin Business Maturity Model, the Platform Stack Architectural Framework, and the Digital Twin Capabilities Periodic Table and Toolkit. The testbed initiative includes a capabilities-focused maturity assessment framework based on quantifiable key performance indicators (KPIs).

These resources provide digital twin developers with leading practices and implementation guidance for designing, developing, and deploying digital twins spanning technology readiness levels (TRL) and aligned with digital twin lifecycle phases. The initiative also supports the integration of emerging technologies, such as Generative AI and multi-agent systems.
